The Mother City offers a multitude of events, festivals and activities to keep one busy during the colder months and we’ve selected just a few of our favourites to share with you.

Robertson Slow Food and Wine Festival: 3 – 5 August 2018 (Robertson)

Fall in love with all things winter at the Robertson Slow Food and Wine Festival that introduces us to an array of unique food and wine offerings in the Robertson valley region. In a world that values busyness and productivity, this festival celebrates the act of slowing down and taking the time to truly savour and indulge in the finer things in life. One for the whole family, it’s an opportunity to explore wine farms with underground cellar tours, game drives, horse rides and boat cruises as well as wine pairings, cooking classes and intimate winemaker’s dinners.

One of the main highlights is the Family Market at the Klipdrift Farm on Sunday, 5 August from 10am – 2pm, offering a delightful selection of local treats, fresh produce, live music and kids’ activities. Entrance is free with wine tasting and kid activities pay-as-you-go.

The Chocolate Festival: 18 August 2018 (Stellenbosch)

Enter the wondrous world of Willy Wonka in the Winelands with The Chocolate Festival in Stellenbosch this August. If premium chocolate tickles your taste buds then this festival is one you cannot miss! Featuring delectable delights such as a chocolate fountain, artisanal chocolatiers, bakers and sweet-makers – the sugary list goes on! All of this can be enjoyed alongside chocolate movie screenings, live music acts with a selection of gourmet burgers, gin, wine, beer and bubbly bars, charcuterie platters and entertainment for the kids. Delheim Jazz & Cheese Fondue: (Sundays from 24 June to 26 August) Stellenbosch

Get cheesy this August with the Delheim Jazz & Cheese Fondue Festival in Stellenbosch featuring an exciting line up of live jazz acts.

The Delheim Jazz & Cheese Fondue series brings an exciting new element this year with the announcement of collaboration with the Cape Town Music Academy and Jazz in the Native Yards. These cheese-inspired delights, wine offerings and live jazz performances will take place each Sunday afternoon from 24 June to 26 August.

Your ticket price includes live jazz performances, Glühwein and soup on arrival and the hearty fondue meal which will be served with complimentary Delheim wines during the break between the first and second acts. Note that tickets must be booked online via Webtickets as no walk-ins will be allowed.

Date: 24-26 August 2018

Time: 12h00 with the first Jazz gig happening at 12h30. The fondue will be served at 13h15.

The Mojo Market Oyster & Bubbly Experience: 31 August – 02 September (Sea Point)
